God Save the Queen - Jubilee Toe Nails ;)

Hi guys! This is my first blog in a long time... I have been so busy lately but I made time to paint some fun union jacks on my toe nails for the queens diamond jubilee celebration. I hope you like :) (and I'm sorry for the low quality photo, I'm using my mobile for this blog so I'm not too sure how the layout etc will look too).

Hopefully I'll get my act together and my next blog won't be as long a wait.

Hard as Hoof

Hey, anyone used/uses Hard as Hoof? If so, does it actually work at strengthening your nails? I want to buy it but only if it works, I don't want to waste money on it if it doesn't
I'd appreciate your feedback on this product :) thanks

Mothers Day Moon Nails

This is my first attempt at moon nails, they aren't too neat but I was excited to use my new nail art brushes that I'd just received. Next time I think I'll use Enigmatic Rambles' method and stick hole reinforcers to the nail as a kind of template because this seems like a great tip and her nails look so neat and tidy :)

I made a mistake on my ring finger because I mustn't have cleaned the nail plate of all the black nail polish and this was transferred to the nail when I stamped :(

But the colours match the dress I wore today for the early mothers day meal we had :)

And this is the most colour accurate photo I could get
I promise my next mani will not be green! I've gone abit OTT with the green lately hehe

Lace Nails

I absolutely love lace and my new konad plate arrived today so had to try out some lace nails! (I've also ordered the fakenad plate in QA6 which is full of lace designs :D)
Since I'm obsessed with frankens I made this creamy purple/grey colour for the base of my nails.

I used the top right design on the tips and I also added the bottom left design to my ring finger :)

I took this chance to compare my special stamping polish to an ordinary white nail polish I have (George - natural white). I used the ordinary polish on all my nails apart from my little finger - as you can see the special polish is much brighter and stands out a lot more! which I think it great! However, for this design I prefer how the ordinary polish blends in a little, as the lace on my little finger just cuts off. Do you agree? or do you prefer the brightness of the special polish?

Zoya Bevin Franken

I made this franken last Friday (can't believe I've worn a mani for a whole week!) I absolutely love the colour, if I do say so myself :) It's a greyish creamy green and in my opinion it's similar to Zoya's Bevin, which I was aiming for. I hope this comes across in the photos, as these are the most colour accurate ones I could get. Yet they look a little paler than in real life.

The photo above is the most colour accurate of these photos.

Please let me know what you think of my franken. I'd greatly appreciate it :)

These are the polishes I used, they are: Nails Inc Warwick Avenue, Rimmel Misty Jade, Topshop Cloud and Bonjois French Maniure white no. 91.

Looking messy in the cupcake case I mixed the polish in

Once I have made the franken and applied it to my nails the silicone cupcake case made it easy to peel away the left overs once it had dried :)
I only make enough nail polish to wear once maybe I should make more polish and put in a bottle but I like the fact that the colours I make are unique and are kind of limited edition hehe I will definitely have to re-create this colour in the future though.

Hii. This is just a quick post. I received this bad boy in the post today and I cannot wait to try it out. I'm really happy with my franken mani (different from my previous post) I have at the moment so I won't be changing it for a while. I will need to contain my excitement a little bit longer and refrain myself from changing my mani to try a new buy. I feel this is a test of my polish addiction... let's see how long it'll be before I cave!

Love For Nailene Nails

This blog is abit different from the ones I have posted but I wanted to share my new love for my Nailene false nails. I've worn them for my previous posts and you can probably see they grew out quite abit. That is because they are so durable they wouldn't budge unless you remove them yourself. I finally took them off yesterday (I really should have removed them sooner lol) after wearing them for 20days!!! Is that a record?! lol :)

The nails are plain which can be painted over, when I get bored I remove the mani with nail varnish remover that is free from acetone and apply a new mani. I love them because when I'm wearing them my mani is extra shiney + pretty and I know my mani will not chip (as with other false nails, however they were so cheap I got mine for £3.99 for 200!) without my nails actually looking fake.

After removing them yesterday I applied some fresh ones. I'm going to show you how they look straight after applying, as I always think they look good even without any colour.

my naked nails! *Blush* lol

W/F so they don't look as shiney as in real life.

I would love to apply acrylics to my nails as much as I can but they do take me a while to do, so I will continue to use these until I have perfected my acrylic technique.

First Franken

I'm forever buying nail polish colours that look great in the bottle but then they disappoint me when I have applied it to my nails (maybe I just expect too much from the nail polish, idk). The most recent polish that didn't live up to my expectations was Rimmel's Misty Jade. It was far too light and luminous for my liking and instead of letting it go to waste I decided to create a franken. I wanted to create something alittle darker and creamier, so I thought it would be fun to try to replicate OPI Mermaids Tears. I don't think it's too bad for my first franken but I will be more creative with colours when frankening in future. Here's the result!
I really do need to take my nailenes off

These are the two colours I mixed - Topshop Nails in Cloud + Rimmel's Misty Jade. I actually used quite alot of Cloud, but its not that obvious.
Let me know what you think of the colour. Is it anywhere near to OPI Mermaid Tears? What do you reckon?

Facets of Fuchsia

Facets of Fuchsia by Revlon is one of my favourite nail polishes! This is a dupe of Deborah Lippmann's Bad Romance. It is now called Scandalous (which doesn't have the same ring to it), as it has been re-released and renamed since I bought mine. When it was first released I went all over to find it... but they were sold out everywhere! Finally they had ONE in stock in one of the many Boots stores I tried :) I was never going to give up.. I was like a woman on a mission! lol.
Look at all that glitter! hehe
What is great about this nail polish is that you get soo much glitter in the bottle. Two coats is recommended and if you wish to build up the glitterness you can apply more coats. However, on this mani I only applied one coat - but this was over my previous purple mani (as I got bored of it). So if you want less glitter I suggest you apply one coat over a dark purple or black.

Recently I viewed TraceFace's and Jessica's blogs with swatches of Whimsical - Facets of Fuchsia's sister polish - and the swatches look so pretty I'm going to have to get myself a bottle! :)

Rainy Day

I'm new to stamping and I have just bought a Konad plate so had to try it out straight away (any excuse to change my nails lol). I've been playing around with it and thought I'd show you the outcome.
After stamping I then painted over 2 of the lines to create grey tips. This is on top of my Nailene fake nails (as they seem to be lasting for ages!).
Details of the products I used for this mani:

Base colour: Topshop Nails in *EDIT* Cloud not Rainy Day (they don't sell cloud anymore. How annoying)
White design: Bourjois French Manicure in Blanc raffine
Nail plate: Konad in S06

Aztec

Hi, this is my first blog ever, so I hope this goes well :)
Anyway, I'm loving this seasons Aztec style so much that I have attempted an Aztec design on my nails. It was my first attempt at doing this so they aren't as neat as I'd like but I like the outcome anyway... Maybe you guys can let me know what you think.

These are Nailene (petite, square) false nails. I love these nails as I usually do my own acrylic nails but they can take a while to do, whereas these take only about 10 minutes to apply and they ensure your nail polish will not chip :) (as you can see I did mess up the nails on my ring finger and little finger before the polish had chance to dry, oopsie)

I used a stencil that is actually meant for airbrushing your nails to create the zigzag and triangle patterns. I am going to try a different style on my nails (as I am always changing them) and I will post them up soon.. hopefully they will be a little neater.

Details of the products I used for this mani:

Base colour:
George nail polish in Meteorite
White design: Bourjois's French Manicure in Blanc Raffine
Black design: E.L.F nail polish in Black
Designs: Airbrush stencil off ebay
